In the heart of downtown Jakarta, an array of colorful and intricate art is displayed on large windows. This stunning installation is part of a massive exhibition involving the work of nearly 20 local Indonesian artists.

At the opening night, guests were treated to a kaleidoscope of delightful shapes, sizes, and colors with each window being awash in vibrant shades of hues. Some are dotted with small splashes of pastel and neons, while others radiate a wonderful warmth as they play with the light coming in from outside. From crows, ships to abstract forms – the imagination ran wild.

The show is the brainchild of event coordinator Afrizal Hadi who wanted to create an expansive and interactive mural perfect for bringing out the creative side of the visitors. Aside from that, the exhibition aims to spread awareness about how art can be used to enhance cityscapes – especially in metropolises such as Jakarta that often suffer from pollution.

“The idea for this show came about because I saw vast swathes of dead space lining Jakarta’s buildings and I wanted it to be reimagined” said Hadi during the opening speech. “Art has an important place in life and these windows offer a much needed refuge from the hustle and bustle of daily life.”

For those who are looking for some serenity amidst their busy lives, visiting this exhibition is a must. It offers a unique experience that features art pieces full of energy and vigor right in the middle of all our lives’ static spaces. So don’t forget to drop by Jakarta before it reaches its finale on February 17.
